After winter, it’s a good time to walk your property and make sure everything is still performing the way it should.
Our Spring Seasonal Home Review is a tailored, non-invasive home review conducted by a licensed renovation contractor—designed to confirm your home remains in strong condition after seasonal stress.
Why a Spring Home Review Matters
In the Chattanooga area, winter temperature swings, moisture, and freeze–thaw cycles can quietly stress a house. You may not see obvious damage, but small shifts in structure, moisture, and exterior finishes can turn into bigger projects if they’re left alone for too long.

Our Spring Seasonal Client Review is built to:
- Catch early signs of wear before they become major repairs
- Protect past renovation work and your long-term investment
- Give you clear next steps instead of guesswork or internet advice
- Offer peace of mind, not pressure
What We Evaluate During Your Spring Review
Your review focuses on four key areas of home performance. Everything is visual and non-invasive—no cutting, drilling, or destructive testing.

Exterior Envelope & Drainage Behavior
We look at how well your home is shedding water and handling the elements:
- Roofline and visible ridgeline from the ground
- Fascia, soffit, and trim condition
- Seal integrity at windows, doors, and exterior penetrations
- Gutter and downspout discharge behavior
- Surface water flow and grading near the foundation

Structural Indicators
We’re checking how your home responded to winter temperature shifts and seasonal movement:
- Visible foundation cracking or separation (where exposed)
- Settlement indicators on interior and exterior surfaces
- Door and window alignment and latch behavior
- Noticeable floor plane irregularities or soft spots
- Exterior steps, porches, and landings for movement or instability

Moisture & Ventilation Response
Moisture problems often start quietly. We pay attention to:
- Attic visual scan (if safely accessible)
- Crawl space moisture indicators and vapor barrier condition (where visible)
- Signs of past or active leaks and staining
- Condensation around windows, trim, and known cold spots
- Basic airflow and ventilation behavior in key areas

Exterior Wood Preservation
Outdoor wood takes a beating through winter and spring. We evaluate:
- Deck and porch structure and surface condition
- Railing stability and attachment points
- Coating performance (paint, stain, or clear finishes)
- Early-stage rot or softening in high-risk spots
- Transitions where wood meets concrete, masonry, or soil
How the Spring Seasonal Client Review Works
Step 1 – Schedule Your Review
Reach out with your address, a few preferred dates, and any specific areas of concern. Returning clients receive first priority.
Step 2 – On-Site Walkthrough
We spend 90–120 minutes walking the property, visually reviewing the exterior, key structural indicators, moisture-prone areas, and exterior wood elements.
Step 3 – Digital Summary & Next Steps
You receive a digital summary with photos and prioritized recommendations. From there, you can decide whether to monitor, plan, or move forward with additional work.
We prioritize returning S&S Renovations clients when scheduling, and open a limited number of spots for new homeowners each season. If we identify items that would benefit from repair or improvement, we’ll discuss options and can schedule future work under a separate agreement.
